Full membership
For those who hold NZQF Level 7 or higher qualification. - please see Eligibility Criteria for more information
To apply you need to:
- Complete application form
- Provide evidence of O &/or P related qualification NZQF Level 7 or above, or as outlined on the NZOPA recognised qualification document
- Provide a CV detailing your work history in O &/or P
- Proof of current employment or offer of employment in New Zealand
- Pay the application fee of $288 (inc GST) - please note that applications will not be processed until application fee has been received.
Associate membership
For those who hold NZQF Level 5 or 6 qualification - please see Eligibility Criteria for more information.
To apply you need to:
- Complete application form
- Provide evidence of O &/or P related qualification NZQF Level 5 or 6, or as outlined on the NZOPA recognised qualification
- Provide a CV detailing your work history in O &/or P
- Pay the application fee of $288 (inc GST) - please note that applications will not be processed until application fee has been received.
Technician membership
For those who hold NZQF Level 5 or 6 qualification - please see Eligibility Criteria for more information.
To apply you need to:
- Complete application form
- Provide evidence of O &/or P related qualification NZQF Level 5 or 6, or as outlined on the NZOPA recognised qualification
- Provide a CV detailing your work history in O &/or P
- Proof of current employment or offer of employment in New Zealand as an O&P Technician.
- Pay the application fee of $288 (inc GST) - please note that applications will not be processed until application fee has been received.

It is noted that this is a living document and is Appendix A to our Rules. Each qualification is evaluated as presented and added to the list if appropriate.

*Alternative pathway
If you do not hold a recognised qualification to apply for Associate Membership, you may still apply via with supporting documentation on the alternative pathway.
- Hold a qualification not recognised by the NZOPA as listed in the NZOPA Rules Appendix “A” .
- Provide details of their schooling and provide a copy of the school curriculum for review by the credentialing committee
- Provide a transcript of their Education
- Work in an NZ facility as an O &/or P technician.
- Provide a CV detailing work history in O &/or P
